Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Penny Search ("Penny Search," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Penny Search iOS application and its related support services. By using Penny Search, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

Penny Search does not require account registration or login. The app does not ask you to provide your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, financial account credentials, or government identification. If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to include in that request.

App usage and analytics information

Penny Search uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve its features. Depending on the configuration and device, analytics information may include app interactions, screen views, feature usage, app version, device model, operating-system version, general geographic information, and an app-installation or app-instance identifier.

Crash and diagnostic information

Penny Search uses Firebase Crashlytics to identify and fix crashes and reliability problems. Diagnostic information may include crash logs, stack traces, device and operating-system information, app state at the time of a crash, and installation identifiers used to determine how many installations were affected.

Subscription and purchase information

Penny Search Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Apple handles your payment method and billing information. Penny Search may receive information needed to determine subscription status, such as the product purchased, transaction status, renewal status, and expiration date. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Market-data requests and technical information

When you use market movers, screeners, search, stock details, or related features, the app sends requests to the Invescent backend. These requests may include ticker symbols, search terms, feature selections, and standard network information needed to deliver and secure the service, such as IP address, request date and time, app version, and device or connection metadata. Market information delivered by the backend may be sourced from Financial Modeling Prep.

2. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide stock discovery, market screening, search, and stock-detail features.
  • Verify and manage access to Penny Search Pro features.
  • Measure app performance and understand feature usage.
  • Diagnose crashes, outages, errors, and security issues.
  • Respond to support and privacy requests.
  • Protect the app, backend services, users, and our legal rights.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. How information is shared

We do not sell personal information. We do not use your information to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for targeted advertising. Information may be processed by the following service providers only as needed to operate Penny Search:

  • Google Firebase Analytics — app-usage measurement and analytics.
  • Google Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting and diagnostics.
  • Apple StoreKit and App Store — subscription purchases, billing, and entitlement management.
  • Invescent — the developer-operated backend that delivers the app's market-data features.
  • Financial Modeling Prep — a market-data provider used by the Invescent backend.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, prevent fraud or abuse, protect safety and security, or respond to a lawful request. Service providers are expected to protect information in accordance with their agreements and applicable law.

4. Data retention and deletion

Penny Search does not maintain user profiles or user-created accounts. We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, troubleshoot problems, comply with law, and resolve disputes.

Firebase Analytics information is retained according to the retention settings configured for the associated Google Analytics property. Google states that Firebase Crashlytics retains crash stack traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from its live and backup systems. Apple retains purchase and subscription information under Apple's own policies. Backend security and diagnostic logs, when generated, are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for operational and security purposes.

You may request deletion of information that Penny Search directly controls by using the support contact described below. Because the app does not require an account and analytics identifiers are not intended to identify you by name, we may be unable to locate or associate certain analytics or diagnostic records with a particular person. Uninstalling the app stops future collection from that installation, subject to any information already retained by service providers under their retention policies.

5. Your choices

  • You may stop future app data collection by uninstalling Penny Search.
  • You may manage or cancel Penny Search Pro through your Apple Account subscription settings.
  • You may request information about, correction of, or deletion of data we directly control.
  • You may decline to include personal information when contacting support.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. Network requests are transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections where supported. No system can guarantee absolute security, and we cannot promise that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed without authorization.

7. Children's privacy

Penny Search is intended for adults interested in investment research and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support request, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

8. Financial information disclaimer

Penny Search provides information for educational and informational purposes only. It is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, exchange, bank, or trade-execution service. Penny Search does not hold funds, connect to brokerage accounts, execute trades, or provide personalized investment advice. Market data may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate.

9. Third-party policies

The services used by Penny Search maintain their own privacy policies and terms:

  • Google Privacy Policy
  • Firebase Privacy and Security
  • Apple Privacy Policy
  • Financial Modeling Prep Privacy Policy

10. International use

Penny Search and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Privacy and data-protection laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Penny Search, its service providers, or applicable requirements. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated within the app or through the App Store listing when appropriate.
